Held Together By Voice: A Workshop

Instructor: Alice Notley

Date: Saturday 16 April 2011, from 1-4 PM.

This workshop will be all about voice: tones-of-voice, vocal flexibility, how poems are held together primarily by the voice of the individual poet and its — the voice’s — intentions, investigations, discoveries, pleasures, etc. Using readings that will be handed out and digested on the spot, students will be forced to produce original work on the spot to promote an urgency of voicing the moment and its individuality. Discussion of this work will reveal how the voice is working on several levels to hinge the poem to the poet and the world.

Fee: $300.00
